Can anyone please clarify the difference between het, melanistic, leucistic, and maybe some other types of AFT colors/morphs? I'm confused!
het refers to heterozygous which deals with the geneology of the animal in question, generally it means that either the mother or the father were of a special morph, "het for albino" means that one of the gecko in questions parents was albino, and therefore carries that gene, although not seen visually (phenotype)
melanistic deals with having a large amount of dark colored pigmentation essentially the opposite of albinism
I won't go any further, you can look these terms up in dictionaries and encyclopedias, or online, I checked online to make sure that my memory wasn't failing when I typed this, and found the terms quite readily.
