I've had my male Irian Jaya Carpet Python for almost 6 years now and the entire time I've owned him he's been perfectly healthy and fantastic to have around. During economic hard times, I sold him to a reptile store close by for some extra funds and then re-purchased him about 4 months later (May of 2009). When I took him back home, I realized that he had a brown tint to his skin all around his mouth, completely covering his heat-seeking pits. I noticed his shedding has been completely abnormal for the past 6 months. He's been consistently shedding every 2 weeks on the dot, and over the past month I've had to help him complete his shed and he's had very runny stool and calcium deposits. He's been eating regularly, but it really sounds like he can't breath once that brown skin has grown over his pits and his coloring has changed from very bright to very dark. His tank temp is between 80-90 degrees and the humidity is between 10-20% with newspaper bedding and a metal water bowl with fresh water being put in every other day. Any advice or help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.
