What do you think about Breeding these 2

JustinMitcham Dec 16, 2009 12:48 PM

Been toying with the ideal of breeding the smokin Toffee girl to all sorts of stuff...she has amazing red and yellow ground color wit some really cool paradox patches and speckles... I think and anaconda would look sweet like this...what do you think? Any input would be appreciated..

should I breed her to a purple

Snow

Anery

or the anaconda...leaning towards the conda since i then could use ity for all sort fo other stuff afterward... geeze all these cool morphs ..what to do???

I would say triple het all the way. So many other combos to make after that.

Any other word on the Lucy hogs yet? I would love to get into that that project.

Sweet toffee!! She makes mine look like junk.
I would go with the anacona or the anery. Just flip a coin. Either one would be killer.

I don't think I'd do the snow though. The t neg x t pos albinos never turn out to be anything too great.. Most the time you can't even tell if they are double homo, because the t neg wipes out the t pos.

Your right that is something to consider.. the clutches would be a blast never the less.
Your probably right..should do the anaconda to the toffee and keep it simple. A toffeeconda with her colors would be insane. Apart from the Extreme reds.. I like the high color toffee's the best, there so unique and quite robust little guys with absolutley amazing color possibilities. This little guy hatched out last season and is het toffee. He has such a cool look kinda like some "gloydi" I have seen..would be cool if I could get the blotches down to circles bordered in white like his blotches are.
Thanks Jon for the input much appreciated.
BTW some killer mexicans you got there man!!

A toffee conda would be awesome...

Hey Justin, I have some great advice, don't give them what you think they want. Give them what they never thought was possible. Go with the conda or the anery and show us something dazzling next spring/summer. Wish I had your choices. LOL

If I were you I would do anery to toffe FOR SURE! Sweet toffe! I know Brent already has het toffee condas, so that is already a started project, and he also has a male snow and adult female toffees.... so I would say anery all the way and beat him to a
T Snow! Wonder what that would look like?????

LIRepman76 Dec 17, 2009 04:43 PM

I wasn't gonna mention that but since you did you do know someone is breeding a anaconda het toffee to an anaconda right now don't you? He lives about 2 hours from you. I still am curious about the Lucy hogs coming back into the hobby. I can't wait for those!

Not really interested in beating anyone to the punch, not my style...I like producing the best colors I can. In the race to produce something new I don't want to loose quality, genetic diversity or common sense. I rather do things at my own pace my own way. I havn't seen too many Toffee's like the red girls I have, and none like the purple het toffee's I produced, just imagine what this purple het toffee will produce when bred to a red anaconda het toffee...she's also 50% possible het for albino as well.

I wasn't trying to insinuate beating anyone to the punch or anything of that nature. Sorry if you took it that way or if you were insulted in anyway. I meant to show excitement for the animals that can be produced this because I can't wait to see what they look like.

Is that a purple or one from the purple lime? I'm not sure if you made a typo or not there. I'm curious how the purple gene works and expresses itself. How long have you been breeding that line and where did they originate?

The only downfall I could see with putting all of the color into a anaconda is loosing it with the superconda if it does what the normal supercondas have color wise.

Any word on the lucies yet? I love to hear any input on them.

Didn't mean to come off sounding that way..I always sound pissed on the keyboard or aHolish .. not my intent. As they say 80% of what a person says is in there body language and here on the PC we don't have that luxury.

as for your questions..

"Is that a purple or one from the purple lime? I'm not sure if you made a typo or not there. I'm curious how the purple gene works and expresses itself. How long have you been breeding that line and where did they originate?"

The purps are just very very dark extreme red(very strong line trait).. the lighter more true red and brick reds are nice and what most people think of as being red. But when I bred my darkest Extremes together I got only darker animals that were for all intents and purposes burgandy and purple not red. Some people prefer the lighter more cherry red. So the description really wasn't accurate since the babies are very nice but as adult there very dark not cherry red. The purps produce a darker red looking albino that just keep getting darker and darker..another thing is it usually has lots of red in its ground color between the saddles.

"only downfall I could see with putting all of the color into a anaconda is loosing it with the superconda if it does what the normal supercondas have color wise."
I see what ypu mean but..the supers are going to still have ground color..we have yellow, red, orange ,peach, pink all sorts of cool ground color..so these can make some really cool albino anaconda's

As for the Lucy's..I make a post here at some point..just for reason I can't talk about it won't happen today.

Here's three types..

Extreme Red

Purple Line

And so darn purple it's virtually black what do you think..all 3 are het albino.

as albinos the darkest one would produce the truest red

Wish I did. My whole hoggie operation would probably fit in the trunk of your car. LOL.

If this is the same Toffee I saw then I will say, that with any morph will make some awesome looking offspring! Sounds like you have already made up your mind on the conda. That will give the instant gratification of some awesome looking condas het toffee in the first year! So what's the story with the lucy coming back to trade anyways? Good luck with that beauty!
