Death By Constrictor Stats

Hiss_N_Herps Dec 17, 2009 11:19 PM

Here is a website with stats on Human related deaths by large constrictors from 1990 to 2008.

http://www.rexano.org/Statistics/Constrictor_Captive_Snake_Fatality.pdf

No mention of any deaths from any sub species of Boa Constrictors or Anacondas.

They go on to state that the larger number of Burmese pythons related fatalities doesn’t mean that Burmese pythons are more dangerous than other large constricting snakes. More people likely keep and interact with captive Burmese pythons in the USA than with other large constrictors due to their populatiry and more laid back attitude than Rock's or Retic's.

From what I heard, the woman in Va in 2008 was really done in by her husband.
