what could happen to the person if one were to ....uhh ship a boa? can you just say its a corn snake?

First of all the way you state your question is as if this
(S373/H.R.2811) is already Law and it is not.

You can ship Boas where ever you need to right now at this point
just so you are clear about this

If enacted you can do whatever you want,ship this and call it that,
but if you get caught its a felony crime.

That's why we can not let S373/H.R.2811 pass. Either of these
Bills can not get that far, its not an option.

I'm not going to jail for trying to make a sale across state lines

I would not advise anybody to try it.

If this Bill were passed.... SHipping that boa could result in a felony violation of the Lacey Act.... Penalties could range from a very stiff fine to some jail time..... I can imagine this will be very hard to enforce

If your charged with a felony the courts will want you to take a plea bargain and give you probation IF it's your first offence. They do this so they don't have to spend money on a trail. If It's a class D felony it will carry 1-5 years probated. If you violate while on probation with another felony charge you will spend some prison time.... not jail time PRISON time. They will run your first felony charge concurrent with your 2nd. IF you go on to catch another felony charge they will hit you with a PFO.... Persistant Felony Offender and that carries BIG prison time.
