Space Heaters Help

Right now I have a Delonghi space heater and our eleltric bill was $200.00 again. It uses 1500 watts and it has a thermostat on it. Is this normal or is there a better way to heat a room cheaper. I live in NE Indiana.

I have a Lasko branded one and it is murder on my electric bill too. Curious if there are better ways as well!
