He LOVED his birthday present!!

My son started out by opening the different stuff for the tank. Then I told him that the Dragon we saw on the net that was already sold was available again. When he asked when we can get him, I pulled the little guy out...3 1/2 month sandfire x red. Real cutie (how, oh how, do you post pictures? I tried to download and it said I took up too much space)

As you know, the first is always the hardest. To not miss the opportunity of this Dragon (thanks Brian) We had to put him in a 10 gallon tank until our big tank was ready. We had trouble regulating the temp. Now we have him in the big tank but will have to work on that a bit too. At least the heat is there now.

He ate two dozen crickets the first day and greens. He seems to eat anything my son puts in front of him. He ate less crickets the second day, some greens and a pellet (that was moving around seemingly on it's own. Took three tries before it went down.) He pooed wet today and not alot but I figured he's still settling in. I was hoping to send the poo to the vet for a check but it dried up.

We think he's not use to the idea that he is alone and now top dog. He usually stays anywhere he is placed in the tank, whether it's the basking side or in the food bowl. He does move around investigating stuff.

As soon as I learn how to post a picture, I'd like to show you all him. (So far we are calling him Merlin)

By the way, I'm in NJ too

glad your son is happy, and once Merlin settles in, im sure he'll be quite happy in his new home
do you have a thermometer with a probe to check the temps?
