"but for some reason I feel there are more Floridians who would be opposed to this bill than just that"
Oh, there are MANY more. I am hoping that simply means that this was only 128 that did this via THAT particular site(I hope). Me being #129.
Even though I opposed this bill, I still think the huge number of irresponsible idiots that own these large constrictors need to get ther heads out of their a$$ and be more freakin responsible, many of them have already helped caused this monster-sized irreversible problem as it is . It certainly doesn't mean that after this is over(if it ever really is) everyone that deals with these big snakes should just continue to carry on irresponsibly as they did before, or we wouldn't be where we are NOW with this nasty thing. There has been a huge problem with this issue for many, many years, and it sucks to think that many of these same idiots that own, buy, and sell these potentially dangerous snakes just might make MY owning and selling totally harmless little colubrids a big problem in the future.
I never did believe that most "Joe-Blow" people of the general public have any business owning these huge snakes anyway, and I certainly don't think that little 10 year old "Joey" should be able to walk out of any store with one either. So now we are dealing with those VERY consequences right now. This thing has been a "double-edged sword" for decades to people like me, and many others.
Things like this always seem to have a major "trickle-down" affect.
All it takes is just a little imagination to think that shmucks of the general snake-hating public could esily one day deem a tiny Scarlet kingsnake as a "dangerous" constrictor.
