Okay Christmas shoppers.....

terryd Dec 19, 2009 05:21 PM

Cole and I got a few early Christmas gifts the other day. Check out a few if you like.

Interesting Cherry co. multistrata, she has a lot going on, very high band count with easily seen heavy news printing, but beautiful terra-cotta saddles, w/ thin black banding around. She has a yellow background color, and I'm not sure you can see it in the photo, but she shows a slight green hue to her too.
When we pulled her out of the box w/ both said "she's green!"

Here is a head shot of her.

This Cherry co. blew me away when I saw her. Nearly perfect multistrata.

Head shot of the above Pale.

Here is another Cherry co. multistrata.

Different Pale then the one above.

Head shot.

Got a trio of these strange intergrade Shackelford county, TX. milks, annulat XgentilisXcelaenops. I only have the single photo for now.

Madison county, syspila.

I have a few more I could post but will wait for another day to do that. That's all folks, you may return to your Christmas shopping.

Merry Christmas, stay safe.

Very very pretty!

I looked him up. Red milksnake, range into western TN (I'm in mid-TN). Too bad I don't get to see em in the wild around here. I did have a small Eastern milk in my "rooster house" (yes, a building for chickens) a few months ago, but he wasn't nearly so bright. Oh well!

Wow Dell - you guys really scored nicely there. Those pales are incredible, especially the one that blew you away - did the same to me. Always a big fan of syspila - I really like the one you posted as well.

So how many multistrata do you have now? Probably as manny as I do snakes!

Thanks Dave,
I'm not sure what the number is for multistrata, but it's a fair amount. I'm fighting the syspila fix right now, every syspila I see I really like, and I know you like them too.

I know what you mean! I'm hoping to produce
some Anderson Co. Ks. Syspila in '10. I have
a female '06 Wabaunsee Co. Ks. intergrade that I picked
up from Doug Lindsay. I can't wait to get a male
and see what they produce.

Dude, your photography skillz just keep improving! You took some amazing pictures. We'll have to get together and do a photo shoot including all of the critters.

You field herpers rock man!, and I am going to start getting out every now and then to do some as well, although I seriously doubt I will produce the numbers you guys do.

maybe not milks Doug but shoot you live in the Mothaland, rats and kings and scarlets, oh my! get out and stretch those legs, now is the time for us extreme southerners! Whilest the rest of the nation struggles with snow, it's 70 degrees today and bright. I'm saving my best spots to hit with some buds on Christmas Eve and the first, hope to see a milk from de Island, Mon!

Todd,
I can't wait for those little insular Triangulum to produce some pearly white eggs for you! Of course I insist on taking a pair off of your hands for you! Ha! What a way to spend Christmas!
Herping! Meanwhile, here in the Nation's Capital, we're under
2' of snow. Nice for the kids though. Have a great holiday!

Thanks Cole, I got lucky w/ a few of those shots, I'm not sure I'll ever get beyond a hack as a photographer, but I'm okay w/ that, I'm happy to get lucky shots.

Let's do it, I need to see those animals again anyway, and a photo session would be good for a longer look too.
