Hey, I'm new to this site and I've been keeping animals for a while, but I had a question:
Is it morally wrong to house a snake in a simple enclosure that most owners give it, or is it okay? I read "the art of keeping snakes" and I kind of agree with the author. What do you people think? A natural vivarium would be cool, but do they really need it to stimulate normal behaviour and intelligence?

I think as long as you meet the needs of the animal you are fine.

Most of the fancy shmancy set-ups are more for the enjoyment of the keeper, rather than the kept.
