First litter ever...

BoaMorphs82 Dec 26, 2009 08:08 AM

Its been a while since I posted and couldnt remember my user name and password. I had pictures of the female motley who gave me this litter 12/25/09 as a baby, but could not find them. My first litter ever and I am stoked. Dad is a hypo het lipstick albino purchased from Tom Burke and mom is a Motley purchased from Gray Rushin. The litter was bitter sweet, 2 live(1 motley and 1 hypo thats trying to be a motley with its tail pattern?), 1 still born(super motley)and 5 slugs sorry about the very poor quality of the pictures, my camera is broke and all I had was my cell phone.

Congrats and merry Christmas. I hope they make it for you. Its good to see a litter photo instead of all this depressing python ban stuff for a change. Best of luck with them. Mike Panichi

Congratulations on your first litter.

That was an AWESOME Christmas present.

Those are some nice looking babies.... Ummm, I don't see the Motley. I see the Super Motley that didn't make it, but not the Motley. Did you post it's picture or am I missing something?

The motley is the animal on the left in the first picture and the one in the second picture by itself. Update on numbers is 2 still borns second still born was a motley also. She is still going, guess she needed a break. I will get better pictures with a digital camera later.

Thank you. It was an excellent Christmas gift.

Ok so I am confused, maybe the one is not a motley. It has the circle back and hour glass in the tail just like mom, but yet it has side diamonds that are abberant. So any input is greatly appreciated.

...but I don't see any motleys there. Maybe just a circleback.

I agree. No motleys and doesnt seem to be a hypo either. You shouldnt get supers with only one motley parent too. I would say the stillborn is a premature that hasnt developed its color or pattern yet. Just my thoughts. Better luck next time.

Congrats on your first ever litter -- It's always quite exciting .

However , I do agree -- No Motleys , and no Hypos . That premie does look like a Super , and yes there have been wierd anomilies where a Super has been born from only one Motley parent . It's happened a few times , but not usually the case. -- Congrats

Ok seeing as the one does not appear to be a hypo just abberant pattern, I would have to go with either 2 fathers sired the litter or it was my male motley 100% het anery 50% poss het albino that is the sire. I did have him in with the female for a short period before taking him out and replacing him with my male hypo het lipstick albino due to the extreme size difference with the male motley (18 months old) and the female motley (4 years old). Which can also explain the super motley, the small litter size with high slugs and no hypos. Guess I shouldnt have counted the little guy out...yes it is extremely exciting to have my first litter and to see first hand a super motley though still born and not get the results I was looking for, its still a great learning experience and just means I will have to persist until I do get the results I am after.

Definitely not a Motley. Congrats on the litter though! Alteast you got something out of it even if it wasn't exactly what you were shooting for.
