New Varanus Melinus

Here are the little guys and girls( I hope). I picked them up today and they are really cool. They all ate off tongs today. Two are very curious and personable and one is a little shy. I'm sure they will all mellow out once they get used to their new home.

They look awesome. The person you got them from really took care of them. What are you currently feeding them? Mine hates the site of tongs and does not have a feeding responce when i come in with food. Mind if i save your photos?

Thanks for sharing, hope you stick around and share about how they are in a group. Whats the size of their cage?

Sure, the cage they're in measures 8Lx3.5Wx2T. Its a double unit I made. My female albino burm lives in the bottom. Its heated by a 30inch radiant heat panel as well as a 100watt Halogen and 75watt daylight bulb. Basking spots are around 118 and ambient temp is between 85 cool end and 91 warm. These guys are sweet. Two of them took fuzzies right off the tongs as well as turkey. They are also eating crickets. The guy I got them from said the only thing they haven't eaten is fish. One of them is very curious, it will walk right up to you with the door open. It shows very little fear. The one in picture on the cork bark. I'll keep you posted as they grow. I think I just got lucky with them. Save all the pictures you want, I'll be taking more soon.

Keep us posted. I know of another keeper on another forum who keeps his reverse trio together without any problems(that have been reported anyways).Hopefully you dont see too much agression once they become of age to mate. From the photos its really hard to tell their sex, but as they age, it should be much easier. I do reccommend keeping multiple basking spots and hides so that if the animals get tired of each other, they can go elsewhere. I'd also have extra cages set handy just incase you do have fighting occur.
