help ID an old photo?

varanid Dec 27, 2009 10:45 AM

approx. 4' long, lightish colored. Found in Palo Duro Canyon, Texas. Think central panhandle, randall county I think. Looks like a Neroida, but different than most of the bandeds I find around here; larger and lighter in color. I took the photo in 2006, and had forgotten about it, but found it cleaning out an old hard drive I was putting in a franken-puter

any ideas?

That looks to be a Blotched Water Snake(Neriodia e.transversa)

Cool pic!, I usually see many Florida Banded Water Snakes when I go fishing with my friend in central Florida.
