Coral Albino Squaretail

dyagi Dec 27, 2009 06:54 PM

Need opinions on the genetics. Is it color, pattern or both? Earlier this year I bred a couple of DH coral albino squaretails I got from Pete Kahl. I got three albino's, one lived for 3 months then just rolled up and died. No regurge no signs of illness.Out of the 2 males this guy has the best color. He's red & white no yellow what so ever, but I'm sure it will come. I hope not. The other male is in shed and I will post him as soon as he's done. He has thin saddles with a ladder tail and he just started to get a hint of coraling but not near what his brother has.
Thanks for all your opinions and have a safe and Happy New Year.
Regards,
Derek

That Albino is just Smok'n Hot !!

I've been expecting to see some like this from the SQT line

I think the really colorful Kubsch(SQT) influences the Albino color

I honestly can't tell if there is SQT pattern influence

I'm up in the air about the SQT Line and if its actually Genetic
or just a polygenic phenotype

I haven't seen any convincing Het "SQT" to Het "SQT
nice full pattern results so.....

Looks like you may have Dbl color influence SQT(Kubsch) and
Coral color possibly

Great colorful Albino irregardless

Happy New Year Derek

make sure you post the other one when it sheds

I will post the other male as he has more of the squaretail pattern with that ladder tail.

I'm with Larry on this one. I'm also not convinced about how the Squaretails really work do to the HetXHet breedings i've seen. I've seen animals that are being sold as hets that look more like Squaretails than othres being sold as Squaretails and vise-versa. When they first came around they had pattern and color and that was breed standerd. After a season or two it then came out that you can have a Squaretail even if it doesn't have the pattern but has the color?? To me,they should have both pattern and color cause thats what was brought to the table in the first place. Just my 2 cents. Very nice albino reguardless. Do you have any other pics that show the pattern a lil better? With the Coral gene in there it's gonna be even more hard to say what it is cause of that gene and what it does. Oh,check your e-mail by the way!

Awesome snake Derek. Hey what's your email address?

BROWNSBOAS Dec 28, 2009 03:02 PM

Why would you want to make a snake that looks like that. I think it should be down right illegal to have the ability to make boas like that...

Don't know about the genetics on it, but who really cares when you look like that

I think there should be something Ronne Pastel Albino in that ones future...

Amazing stuff Yagi San!!!!!
