Very nice Jeff!! I wonder what the amel gene bred into the more orange everglades rats would look like??

DMong Dec 29, 2009 01:49 PM

Although this pic is of a "bubble gum" ratsnake(amel black x Yellow x Everglades), the straight-up amel rossalleni subspecies looks very similar with a very intense red/orange coloration, with no discernable lateral lines because of the complete lack of melanin. Leaving the animal a solid, vivid red/orange coloration.

I wasn't aware there were any amel everglades. I always thought it was just hypo or the normal everglades for sale. If someone out there has them, I'd love to own one.

Yes, there are some out there, but they aren't at all very common as most would think for some strange reason......weird for sure!

Thanks man, but I can't really take any credit for the photo or the animal, as it isn't mine, and was only posted to depict what the similar amel Everglades looks like for the poster. But yes, it certainly is a colorful animal for sure!
