my wife and i are pretty new to the herp pets but we are loveing it. right now we have 2 balls and are really wanting a boa but after talking about it we really want a dwarf or something that doesnt get 12 ft . the main reason is we like to handle the snakes we have now and want something that we can handle with out haveing to have another person around. do any of you have any advice on breeds to look for? we found panama dwarfs from gary kettring on this site in the classifieds but unfortunatly for us shipping isnt possible right now as we live in idaho and our highs are only getting in to the low 30s and lows 10-15. any help on specific breeds of boas that will stay in the 6ft and under range would be greatly appreciated. thanks jake & tricia

If you stick to males of just about any boa species you should be fine, they normally don't get much larger than 6-8'. My albino columbian probably won't grow much larger than 5-6'.
