At a young age, ball pythons need consistent handling to relax with their new owners and new homes. But, being you just bought her, you need to give her a few days to adjust to her new surroundings before handling her alot. But with proper handling, she should calm down nicely as she gets older. Though there are some that won't, we have a five year old male that still curls up in the ball. All these years we've had him it still takes a few minutes of handling for him to start to relax and he's still somewhat jumpy. Good luck.
