I'm trying to work out some statistics on human fatalities from snakes, dogs, and horses in the US, and compare them to the number actually in captivity... I can't seem to find any data on how many large constrictors are in captivity. I found one source that claimed their were only 600,000 pet snakes in the US, but I find that hard to believe. I found another source that said there are approx. 11 million pet reptiles, and I would guess that about half of those are snakes, and that 6 million might be a more accurate guess...

Can anyone give me a rough approximation of the number of large constrictors? (mainly the 9 listed in S. 373)
