WTF?? Seems like the onset of winter this year has caused mites in my collection!! I had suspect mites last month on my pairs of baby hondurans and pyros. Treated both pairs with PAM, but never saw any dead mites on the paper towel substrates, or really saw any crawling on the snakes themselves. Both pairs look fine and clear. The only symptoms I saw before treating were a few dark flecks in their water bowls and some suspicious looking areas on some of their scales. But none had the typical mite like outbreak. I did it more as a prevention to ease my mind. Well, right after Christmas my buddy comes over to borrow my PAM cause he had mites on a couple of his ball pythons. Today I noticed my sonoran gopher baby had mites. This time positively!! Luckily I had some Reptile Relief spray on hand as my bud still has my can of PAM!! This really bothers me and I have not had a case of mites in my collection for over 10 years!! Any one else notice more mite outbreaks in the winter??
