Ride em cowboy - a little too much???

Just wondering if anyone else has seen this......

My F2 VPI Jungle Male Woody has been with my Super Salmon pos Jungle Female Amber for a couple of months. Have seen activity off and on for most of that time with no shed from Amber. Woody was born 04/28/2007 so a young buck but not a barely capable one either.

Any ways, was cleaning today and noticed some raw areas on Amber. Not very pretty looking. No exposed heat sources (RHP with 18" ceiling) no live prey, mostly F/T and all non frozen are F/K.

Some pics - warning, kinda graphic.....

Three spots, all more or less mid body, both sides and along the uper part of her side.

Spot one... red and raw with clear scale damage...

Spot two, IMO even worse, looks deeper and clear scale damage...

Spot three, not nearly as bad, not raw but looks like the other two, just earlier in the forming stage...

Interestingly enough, a closeup of spot three shows clear lateral scratching.....

I'm thinking Woody literally spurred her raw? I've seen it before on another female where the spurring had torn up the surface layer to the point you could see the holes and tears in her POS.

Some of that same scratching around spot three can be seen around the other spots but not as clear like he spurred the same area for a while and the two more damaged spots ended up tearing off the scales???

I've pulled him and applied neosporin to all three spots.

Any thoughts??

I'm thinking this pairing is done for the season, not sure if she's gravid or not but IMO needs some TLC now!!

oh wow thats well umm intense to say the least. If it was me I would call it quits for that pair this year also. Looks like he was a lil to much in S&M for Ambers liking lol.

Man that's insane. Even on the top pic you see scratch marks. Talk about raw dawg. Maybe some K Y mext time?

I've never seen spurring like that, but appears to be obvious that's what's happened there.

Separation seems to be the only choice you have.

Wow, that is pretty serious damage from spurring. Makes me think of a persistent teenage boy trying to convince her girlfriend to put out.

Woah, that is some crazy aggresive courting! I agree that it looks like too much spur action. Poor gal

I have a pair that have been courting on and off since 10/12, I'm going to go pull him tonight and make sure there's nothing similar on the female as I see him spurring her a lot.

Thanks for sharing Dave, I never would have that something like that was possible.
