New Year's Day field Herping

antelope Jan 01, 2010 10:17 PM

Went out today to see what I could flip, saw a ground skink, a Carolina anole, a med geck, a Rosebelly lizard, a Rio Grande Chirping frog or three, and finally, the only snake of the day, a Texas coral. Sorry for the crappy shot, I squeezed one off before it bolted through the grass, I only got part of it. Temps were 57 but very sunny and clear. time was about 1:40 p.m. central.

It's a'comin' down here too John, but, it'll be gone after 4-5 days, then I can continue to harass you! If you get the chance, come down here for a weekend when it's 45-50 but sunny and we'll get you some remedy for what ails ya'!

Todd,

Thanks! I actually thought Louisiana at first, but it sorta looks like a New Mexican Milk. So many darn intergrades in the eastern half of this state! LOL'

agreed! It's freaking cold and foggy outside now. Freezing fog sucks. I haven't found anything since...October maybe?
