Wondering if my crested is sick or just extremely shy

eveliina Sep 19, 2003 06:05 AM

I got him on monday. He sat nearly four days in his little box, didn't move and I'm not sure if he ate but I think he did. He is alive I looked every day. Last evening I took him out of the box and removed the box. He ate a little peach babyfood when I put it right before him. I sat before his cage for two hours and he didn't move other than his head. My two baby cresteds are doing fine, the are very active at night and eat well. This morning the possibly sick male had climbed into a new hide (the hard paper thing inside in papertowels, don't know the name for it).

Do you think he is sick? Should I do something else for him?

Thanks
Eveliina

I haven't seen him move even at nights. Wednesday night I shut down the lights at 21.00 and I was wake watching them nearly four hours and he didn't move.
The reason I took of his box was because he the was poo in it, I don't think its good to keep it there I didn't mean to cause him more stress.

Last night he almost came out of his hide, I think thats a good sign. I was already thinkig he was paralysed...

I spend some time last night watching them.
The two babies are fine, I was thinking to put them together in a week or something because they both seem to eat well and they are almost the same size. Do you think it would be safe, or should I still keep them separated in case of some disease (they are from different breeders)?

As for the male...He hasn't shown any change in good or bad. He sits in his hide even when the light have gone of four hours ago and you can barely see. Last night I left him some babyfood but it doesn't seem like he has touched it. He did put his head out of the hide (thats a little better than before). What do you think?

Thanks,
Eveliina
