2009 thayeri acquisitions

Beaker30 Jan 02, 2010 09:34 PM

I posted this in the main kingsnake forum awhile back, but I thought I would post it here to help liven up the place some more. These are some of the thayeri I added to my collection in 2009. I have a few more coming, but I will have to post them later.

An aberrant 09 female:

An aberrant 09 male with a patternless tail:

Another 09 aberrant female. Smallest snake I ever saw. Was only taking pinky parts to begin. Now she eats everything I put in front of her and is growing nicely:

An 05 aberrant male:

An 08 MSP male clutchmate to Mike Bodner's aberrants:

He will be paired with an aberrant female I produced. She has some of that lineage also:

A yellow 09 female from a white line dad:

And her brother. Check out the band count on this guy:

An 07 female of pure Applegate lineage. I love her pin bands:

Her 08 half brother. Nice yellow ground color and cool split saddles:

An 09 silver male with a very unusual head pattern that contains color above his eyes. He is also from WC x white line lineage:

An 09 bowtie patterned F2 male:

A pretty yellow 09 female with awesome alternates:

As you can clearly see, I like the aberrants and unusual patterns. I have a few more still coming, but they won't make it here for the end of the year. I'll have to post them in 2010. Hope you enjoyed looking.

And that 4th one?
I believe I know who produced all the others in that series.......
But please share the background info on the 1st, 2nd and 4th pictured......

Number 1 traces back to Buzz Ross. Number 2 traces to stock from Gary Sipperly and WC collected by Ruiz. And number 4 was from Sipperly/Applegate lineage.

I have an 07 female from that Buzz Ross line who I am going to pair with a bright orange slightly aberrant male I got from Chris Garcia. She is huge, but they are both first timers. She has an orange belly, and he came from an extremely variable clutch produced by Vern and Butterscotch so I think they will come up with something really cool if the breeding is successful. I am crossing my fingers.

Thanks for the info Craig.....
Who produced them?
Were they all 3 produced by the same person?

Craig,

You have some amazing animals there -- the white aberrants and the yellow aberrant female that you plan to mate with the Bodner msp are my favorites. Hopefully you'll have lots of great clutches to hover over next summer!

Thanks Tom. I have three thayeri pairings planned for next season. Some orange aberrants, some yellow aberrants, and some F1 x white lines. Should be fun.
