I always knew she had potential but her red has really popped since she matured.
I can't wait to see what she produces. Who you gonna put her with?

>>That will be a awesome pairing, I can't wait to see the babies.
>>Will she breed this year or next?

I have her brumating....She reached 28 or so inches before I cooled her, but she is a 2008 hatch.....If she does ovulate I will certainly put her with ROY, but if not I will feed her and wait until next year.......

I have a 2008 MSP from Maria that is around the same size that I have the same plans for......But I will try and pair her up with 4EYES...The yellow VR leonis I got from Larry Briggs.....

I'd much rather a smaller female try and pass fertile eggs than slugs....Most egg binding incidents are due to infertile eggs and/or slugs......

Now you're just tryin' too hard John, lol! We know where you got her! What I am really interested in, in the rose colored animals, is finding ones that hold or increase that color, without getting too orange or red, or fading too much into gray. While they are ALL attractive, I'd like to maintain that color phase in my colony predictably, like Michelle seems to have done. John, I can't wait to see what you produce this year! And Michelle, if you take deposits....lol!

Jlassiter Jan 03, 2010 02:59 PM

Yep...Michelle produced MICHELLE, but not ROSE.....LOL
And I haven't produced ANYTHING since 2006 so no I haven't established squat yet.........Yet!

Todd, all the rose animals are coming from the applegate strain and we can work out whatever you want on some.
I had seen one years ago and was in awe of it.
So i started working towards having some animals that keep that hue in my line.

Thank you John,
that Cherry msp was the fastest growing thayeri I have ever seen.
He came in big and never stopped. He was taking small mice by the time he was a year old. He bands are more of a peachy color than in the photo, I liked his head pattern is why i bought him.
the little dark msp is my hold back her ventrals are very black.

There may be a melanistic hiding in that Dark female MSP.....

And...don't you just love thayeri that love to eat?

MichelleRogers Jan 03, 2010 01:56 AM

Thats what I am thinking there may be some melanism hiding.
Guess what she loves to eat too!!!!!
I love them to eat!
This clutch was the best feeders of the year the female was a first timer and she only laid 4 eggs they were large and all 4 hatched and fed on f/t without any hesitation.
