That's pretty creative, nice way to not waste 3 neodosha cages.

Aside from the cage, wouldn't it have been a good idea to make atleast one of those tubes connect to box full of sandy soil, or atleast have a tub of dirt in one of the cages(if not all).

I know it sucks to keep deep bedding in neodosha cages because the bedding gets caught in the track.

Good idea will add another box with deep soil, it really is amazing to see them run through the tubes from cage to cage.I still have to finish adding more features to the cages there almost complete but i need to put a couple of final touch on them.

Very creative, nicely done.

A box with 18" of soil would really add an important dimension to your setup, and to the mental and physical well being of your Ackies.

For you basking areas, you are keeping lizards, not chondros. Ditch the dowling/branch perches, and provide wider basking surfaces : )

I like the broader surfaces, but why the red bulbs? What kind of basking temps are they producing? What about overall temp gradient period?

those bulbs will be gone soon and changed. ($) little by little. right know im working on getting pill bugs to take care of the bio (poop and dead crickets). its going to be a eco system that takes care of its self. buy the way do you have an over stock yellow ackies your looking to part with (small).

robyn@ProExotics Jan 06, 2010 03:59 PM

We have quite a waiting list for Ackies, and we aren't doing the Yellows at all anymore.

So what are your temps in that setup?

my temps in the encloser are 85 degrees when the day light floresent lights come on and at night when they go off 75-80. humidity is well kept at around 50-80 depends when i decide to put water in the sand,soil,Eco-earth substrate. I use live and fake plants in the encloser. I use crickits and pill bugs which take care of the food and eco system part, and also they breed constantly giving me lots of food. well thats about it if you have any more ideas im opened and welcomed for suggestions. im thinking about putting house geckos in there but i have not decided yet if i want to. well for now its just my yellow ackies and their having the time of their life. PS: why did you stop breeding yellow ackies?

robyn@ProExotics Jan 07, 2010 03:28 PM

Just chose to concentrate on Reds. House geckos are dirty parasite-y lizards, I wouldn't do that.

Ambient temps seem fine, but what are your basking temps?

Dont know, how do i find out? I know i always put my heat or basking lamp on a dimmer switch and check it with my hand to make sure its not that hot this way it dont burn my lizards.

KenC Jan 07, 2010 06:05 PM

You need to get a temp gun. Best way yo monitor temps in enclosure.
