Just can't seem to get him Interested

I have had heavy courting with other males with this one female, but the male that I really want to do the job is not showing interst. He only does the battle of the males when put in with another male, they are both prodducing spurm plugg (and are both early 07's). Hot side 83-85 cool side 78. 77-78 night time temps. Have any ideas guys? Should I seperate them all and offer foo and try again in a week or 2 or 3? Thanks for all your help. HAPPY NEW YEAR and Congrats to all that have had some nice liters already!

try bumping up your temp on the hot side a little. I am not a big name breeder by any means but the luck that I have had this year is by keeping my hot side at 87 and my air temp right around 80. I didn't use a night time drop, not saying it doesn't work, and I already have 6 prego females. Good luck and keep us posted if your luck changes or if it stays the same. I also live here in ohio so that seems to work up here. I know it is a lot different in other parts of the US.

Should I offer a meal? I bumped up temps just now let's see. Should I seperate them for bit? I wish you luck with those females. I am just a hobbiest also, not a "Breeder". Thanks for the help.

I too am by no means a "BIG" breeder. But i have had great success by cycling my males in for 5 days and then seperating them for 2. This gives both of them a well needed break in most cases. I do offer meals, smaller, every 2 to 3 weeks. So smaller meals further apart. Males need the meals for strength and the girls need them for eggs building. In most cases the males eat ok for me, the girls are always hit or completely miss. As long as they are health PRIOR to the start of breeding, they will be fine either way. Good luck.

chad hit it on the nose. give them a break for a day or two and offer small meals. I know that jeremy stone also mists his boas to raise the humidity and induce breeding. Good luck!

I am actually having the same problem, my most anticipated male I have been waiting to mature will not touch the girl I put him in with. I tried the normal tricks, introducing another male to spark him, throwing the shed skin of another male, both failed.

So just 2 days ago, an idea struck me. I have another pair breeding, the female is currently swelling for her POS. I decided to throw my male in with that pairing. Thinking the smell of a female in heat my spark him to go. I haven't seen any action yet, but I figured its worth a shot. Hopefully the smell will get him worked up, and I can pull him out to put him with the female thats waiting for him.

Just an idea worth mentioning

I have a 5 year old male that has had no interest in the previous years until now . Sometimes it can be really frustrating when you raise them to the correct size and age, and they do nothing for you . All of the anxoiusness turn to disappointment . But cheer up - it sounds like you have other males interested . Focus on what you can work with.

Out of 4 pairs only one female is clearly pregnant.

The other 3 pairs have been going at it for over two months now.
I think I've seen 2 of them ovulate but I'm not sure why they
haven't taken yet.

Are you temp Cycling them? Does the room have outside light. Humidity? Lots of factors and it varries from collection to collection.

give me a call TC you have my number...
