Breeding Size for Nelsoni

camby Jan 03, 2010 07:37 PM

I am looking to find out what ht ebreeding size of a female nelsoni should be. I tried searching the forums but only located one thread stating the female should be 3 feet and at least 18 months old. So, the question is is there a recommended weight rather than the 3' rule?

Thanks in advance

I don't breed most milks till they are 2 1/2 years old .....
nelsoni...would be like 3 foot long?....more or less...
milks tend to have huge eggs....
Good luck....

They can be smaller than 3 feet. Age isn't important.
I have a 16 year old female Nelsons that has produced many clutches of eggs and she still isn't 3 feet long.
I wouldn't hesitate to have a 32-incher breed - or even one a bit smaller.
