Trap Boxes

NorthamExotics Jan 04, 2010 11:27 AM

Does anyone have a good source for trap boxes (or plans for that matter)? I have an older one from Precision Caging but their service was slow and their site doesn't look current. The only other 'commercial' one I have seen is from Boamaster. Any comments or advice is appreciated.

The Boa Masters one does look nice- but maybe a bit of a space hog for small species in smaller cages at 14.5" x 12.5".

For real small you could just use a black deli cup or small tub with a lid upside down for a hide. Cut a hole for a door, and then you just pop another cup/tub on top (without the hole) when you want to trap the snake inside

Actually, that's a very good idea!

Makes it easy to get a hot into a deli cup too. I saw a guy put a small kaouthia in a cup that was the most patient guy I have ever seen working with a hot snake. Must have taken twenty five very calm tries to finally get that thing to settle down into the cup. All the while sipping on a big cup of cola with the other hand. Then nearly get tagged at least three times snapping on the lid. I thought there must be a better way, especially as I am not that patient of a guy. I used this deli cup hide/trap technique when I sold it, just taped the cup right to the other one and it was much easier, quick and safe.
