SMALL DENTS ON EGGS

edenspets Jan 05, 2010 01:00 AM

ok, my female laid a clutch of 11 eggs yesterday ( my first clutch of ball python eggs )and from watching a video that was taken while i removed them from the tub i noticed some spotting on the eggs. when inspecting today i noticed the spots had turned into tiny dents in the eggs. does this normally occur or is this something i should be concerned about?

I hatched a clutch last season that looked 10 times worse than that. I thought for sure they were no good, but they candled fertile and they all went full term and hatched. Candle them all, and as long as they're good, they should be fine.

As long as your substrate is properly hydrated, they should be fine!

i'm using straight water with light defuser and my hygrometer is reading 99% humidity inside the egg box. ( thanks to all who responded. i tend to be a little overly cautious my first attempt at anything. next season should be a breeze once i have gone through the motions this season and know what to and not to expect. )
