Here is a letter from the ohio senator Sherrod Brown. Keep up the good work everyone. Good luck aswell this season. Everything is looking good here in ohio. Jeff Williams
ear Mr. Williams:
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on S. 373, legislation that would ban the importation of various constrictor snakes.
S. 373 would ban the import of certain python snakes and label them an injurious non-native species under the Lacey Act. I can understand your concerns with this legislation, particularly its impact on pet owners and Ohio businesses. It is important to note that this legislation does not prohibit the private ownership of constrictor snakes, rather interstate trade and importation.
I will certainly keep your comments in mind should S. 373 come before the Senate.
Thank you again for getting in touch with me.
Sincerely,
Sherrod Brown
United States Senator

. The fact is, they don't make a lot of money from the sale of the animals, a big part of their income comes from the sale of supplies and food. With reduced availability of these herps would come a reduced demand for the food and supplies necessary to care for them. This will result in a loss of income (even a loss of a fraction of a percent is enough for the big chains to react to). That profit will have to be recovered somehow and chances are you'll see an increase in the cost of the items that remain in demand (dog and cat food and supplies).
