Bubbles in saliva doesn't instantly mean respiratory infection, it could simply be air trapped in saliva. If there are bubbles of yellowy mucus coming from the nostrils or corners of the mouth, wheezing etc, then it would be signs of an upper respiratory infection. If the snake is excessively drooling, has inflamed gums, a 'cheesy' white buildup around the teeth etc. then its more likely to be mouth rot.

One large bubble or a few small ones is normal, if its foamy, the it is more likely a URI.

Observe the snake for unusual behaviors..head and neck held upwards for long periods of time (don't confuse this will just trying to scale the walls of the cage), wheesing, lack of appetite etc. Or if you just want to be sure, take him to a qualified reptile vet for an examination.
