Bugs are bugs with these things. Feed the insects a very nutritious diet and some extra calcium and that's how the crickets are nutritious to your lizard. Doesn't really matter the source of the insects as most commercially raised ones are fed a crap but high fat/protein diet to be grown up as quickly as possible.

Like the rule of thumb phrase goes ['you are what you eat']. We use more roaches then crickets, I never cared for crickets and you have to feed alot more crickets to get the same results as a couple of roaches or larger insects. We only use crickets on our hatchling dwarfs and occasionally for our adults only to diversify their diet and give them something they all really seem to like. We make our own gut load for the crickets from lab block [rodent food] and brewers yeast, wheat germ, alfalfa and bee pollen. These goodies are passed onto the monitors when they eat the crickets. Alot of people use frozen veggie mixes but it will draw fruit flies so we avoid them.
