Guys I need help, my helix dbs 1000 is hotter then I want and I'm too much of a knucklehead to figure it out plus all of a sudden the red light won't go off....

The red light is an indication that some kind of "error" occurred. I suggest contacting the Helix folks (see their website). I recently had a problem and they were very helpful. Good luck!
