Seantor Chris Dodds response

JPCONS Jan 07, 2010 11:34 AM

Thank you for contacting me concerning the treatment and protection of animals. I appreciate hearing from you on this important issue.

I strongly support the Animal Welfare Act and similar measures that strengthen regulations relating to the care, handling, and treatment of animals. I believe that animals should not be forced to experience needless pain and suffering and have worked to advance legislation to protect animals throughout my career in public service. I have also long supported efforts to protect some of the world's most vulnerable species from extinction.

I am therefore proud to have supported a number of efforts during the 110th Congress to advance these goals. I supported legislation to increase penalties for animal fighting, prohibit the slaughter of horses for human consumption, and ensure that dogs and cats used by federal research facilities are obtained in a transparent manner. I additionally backed efforts to designate the polar bear as a Threatened Species under the Endangered Species Act, as well as supported full funding for the Multinational Species Conservation Fund and other federal programs that seek to protect endangered species of animals. Please be assured that I will continue to advocate for policies that seek to protect all living creatures.

Thank you again for contacting me. If you would like to stay in touch with me on this and other issues of importance, please visit my website at http://dodd.senate.gov and subscribe to receive my regular e-mail issue alerts. Please do not hesitate to contact me again if I can be of assistance to you in any way.

Sincerely,

CHRISTOPHER J. DODD

United States Senator

I'm a little confused. I don't see anything in this reply pertaining to the issue or S373. I am assuming it is saying he is supporting S373?

Of coarse he is for it, he is a bleeding heart liberal Democrat!!!! And it is no surprise to me he didn't understand your letter to him, have you ever heard him Talk?? He is a MORON!! Sorry to be harsh, but most of his "group" will be for it, because it "sounds like a great cause for the enviroment." It is this fallow the heard mentality with the green, global warming, and enviromental movement that will be hard to change unfortunately.
Hopefuly we can change some of their minds, but don't count on it with all the money flowing into their fat wallets from all the special interest groups. I could go on all day, and as you can see I had a bad one,LOL!!!!!

I did not read your letter. I have interns that look over them and send out the form letter that best fits the issue. This was filed under "animal issues" and so you get the animal issues request.

Don't worry, even though I have never read through or even heard of your python ban bill thingy..... I assure you I will vote however my party leaders tell me to vote. Now excuse me while I go have a long lunch on the taxpayers bill and spend the evening with my mistress.
