FREEZING FL RAINING IGUANAS

southernboids Jan 07, 2010 12:47 PM

Ok the other day it was mentioned that the pythons would probably freeze in Fl after so much cold weather.

Well.. I have not read about pythons being found frozen but I did read this

Would be nice if they found Pythons frozen too.. then maybe the government could leave us the Heck alone and call of the PYTHONS TAKE OVER THE US scare.

i think that it would a travesty if that happened. Its NOT their fault they are there. And NO i dont think that anything that happens to the wild population of feral reptiles in Fl. will stop what this obsurd government that we the American people have voted into office from violating YET ANOTHER of our rights. Unfortunately.

I feel extremely sorry for the dead Iguanas littering the ground here. These gentle lizards are only a threat to another invasive the hibiscus plant. Whether they die are NOT will make NO difference in the politicians plan to enrich themselves and their cronies...

That is really bad....what is going on that Fl is getting dumped on with all this freeze? I too feel bad for the iguanas, but now what about the Burmese that are supposedly there in astronomical numbers? Won't they start turning up dead? Seems like if they are there in such great numbers running the streets should turn up at least 100 or so right? I'm actually heading to Fl later today so I am not happy with the weather I am hearing about....anyway...it is supposed to warm up next week...I hope me and the iguanas can enjoy a warmer rest of next week.

Thanks Andy Federico

The forecast for tomorrow night is temps down into the 20's even in parts of southern Florida. The vast majority of feral pythons will not survive this one, especially in mid-Florida where the temps will be low for an extended period.

Kelly, I've never seen an extended period of cold in my life like this. It's a HUGE problem even with winterised enclosures because except for today our high temps have been in the high 50's. I'm a 6th generation Floridian and am a lifelong resident and this is unbelievable....Ill bet there will be a paucity of Pythons next year...LOL
