I think I’ll join HSUS
Why not? Many of you have! Divide and conquer! If you haven’t done everything in your power to contact your senators and write them letters, you have JOINED the HSUS! Congratulations honorary HSUS members! Do you think it is a coincidence that several large constrictors and Boa Constrictors are on the list amended in the Senate? This is Divide and conquer. HSUS is splintering off what I estimate in about 30% of the Reptile trade to destruction via S373 and HR2811 at least. This fragmentation makes YOU much more vulnerable. Further, once that 30% is out of the way, they have PRECEDENCE and precedence gives them a LOT more leverage for the next fight! You’re making a decision to stay out because you think you dodged a bullet. This makes you FAR more vulnerable than if you engage in this fight and help us KILL S373! If S373 passes in ANY form, that strengthens those who are going to come for YOU next!
S373 is not in its final version yet!!! It won’t be until passing through at least three more steps, that it will be set and finalized. During one of those steps they can vote to add in your precious animals that you think are safe now! You fail to understand the underhanded deceit that those involved in politics are capable of. Ball Pythons and maybe ALL other Pythons can be added onto this bill via an amendment in the Senate, OR in the House, or even if the somehow those that concoct the compromise in the conference committee decide to include all Pythons and Boas. You are still in the sights of the HSUS. Without doing everything in your power to help stop this, you may be a sitting duck. The entire building is on fire right now! Just because that fire isn’t on your floor yet, you think you are safe. In fact, you have decided to let the others burn that you know are without question vulnerable. You have decided to let them burn!
Tom Wolfe has received a pathetically small number of letters. This is because people have either given up or think they are not vulnerable. If you keep Leopard Geckos and you don’t send in your letters to help stop S373, you are next! The PRECEDENCE will be set if they win this victory and taking you down will be a whole lot easier. Bill Nelson wrote THIS on his web site the day of the last hearing of S373 in the Senate.

Nelson is working to pass legislation so you have absolutely no say in, if you survive or not! This is not a game people. You MUST get up and fight! You inaction is fundamentally showing your support for HSUS and the Animal Rights Extremists who will be coming for you, even perhaps very soon with S373 if the outcry is insufficient. Now get your letters done and get everyone you know to do this as or, perhaps you would rather just sit down and write your check for support made out to the HSUS and admit your real position. You can and MUST help make a difference. Do NOT delay!
