I remember when the data on the dental structure of Sinornithosaurus first surfaced and there was much excitement about it. Not quite as much as the anatomical debates over the quad wing structure of one of its close evolutionary relatives, Microraptor gui, but still extremely interesting and much needed additional information. There has been speculation for many years about the possibility of smaller venomous theropods, but up until this discovery, the anatomical data to strongly support it has been insufficient. I had the privilege of having Dr. Martin as an instructor for a couple of classes at the University of Kansas in the early 80's, great guy and incredibly sharp. Thanks for posting.
