Is it me or.....

garweft Jan 10, 2010 11:33 AM

Is it me or has this forum died.

It's funny cause there are about 3 pages full of adds posted everyday in the BP classifieds. More adds than any other catergory. Yet, noone seems to care to discuss or talk BP's anymore.

I hope it is just everyone busy writting letters to their senators. And not just a sign of things to come.

I agree with you.

We need to see some breedingpix, babies from last year etc.

I think the problem is because the recent legislation has caused the primary use and topic of this forum from Ball Python breeding, heath, feeding, fun news, pictures, and whatnot, to Politics. This isn't a criticism! I am glad I have a source for all the latest news and other keeper/breeder opinions on it.

I agree..News over this legislation has taken over the forums, but that's a good thing.
It doesn't mean there aren't some real genetic surprises waiting to be discussed. It just means that we all took the threat seriously, that's all.

To be honest I took a break from snakes during the holidays and found that I kinda like spending time doing other stuff. I'm not really breeding this season so there isn't any big news from me in that department not like I've got a bunch of ooo and awww projects anyway and my camera took a poop right before Christmas and I haven't gotten a replacement yet. Overall it's just a slow time of year and I think the legislation has been all over every forum lately and it has a lot of people worn thin. I'd like to see some more of the fun stuff too - while we can still have fun.

Just seems like a lot of peoples excitement about BP's has sunk as prices dropped. I now it's a tough market right now, but you would think that everyone who claimed to do this because they loved it..... well where is there love now?

I see more "everything must go" sales in the classifieds then I see new posts in here. Even this semi "sky is falling" type of post hasn't had any response.

So I need to ask... Is this the end of the BP dominance of the reptiles market?

You think this one is bad, check out the Morelia Python forum. Averages about six posts a week I think. I've posted in there before and never got responses. Same here, but more often there.

I started visiting this board about a year ago but I've lost some interest lately because I feel the subject has changed. I understand everyone's anger and frustration about this new legislation being proposed but if I wanted to hear about the "evils" of socialism and how it's "destroying" our country I'd watch Fox news, then I'd vomit. Although I do find it endlessly entertaining that some posts here have condemned the US Geog report on pythons as unscientific and illogical but then refer to global warming as a hoax because freezing temperatures obviously prove it to be false...oh hypocrisy how do I live without you...

I'm hoping things will calm down a little whatever the outcome of this legislation is and we can work together to protect our industry without dividing ourselves over personal politics....
