2 important questions

i have been incubating 1 egg for about a month now without a hovabator or anything like that. I just have it in a sealed in a rubbermaid container with perlite. My house is usually around 80 degrees but a few days ago it dropped down to 70. Now its back up to about 80. Will this affect it? It's not rotten and doesnt smell. And the other question is.... I have my humid hide dirrectly above my UTH. There is like droplets of water dripping onto the geckos. I figured this might be to much humidity. Can this cause a skin infection? ken

I've been worrying about the same thing, because it's that odd time of the year when I can't decide if I should use the AC or the heater. I think my dropped down to about 74 one night. But my eggs are still doing all right as far as I can tell. Try to control the temp as best as you can, but I think the eggs can handle a little fluctuation since it gets cool at night even in the desert.

Try to move your humid hide so it's only partially on top of the UTH--enough to keep the hide warm, but enough for the leo to not have to lay directly on the UTH. I've used a bigger hide before, so I know mine usually don't like to be right where it's hot.

I do not know what the fatal temp is for incubation. Do you have the Leopard Gecko Manual. I seem to remember there being something in there regarding this issue. If you do not have that book you should get it.
