Evolution! Breaking news, through evolution burmese pythons have developed a chemical secretion. This chemical secretion is much like what happens when you activate a pocket warmer! They find some hole to curl up in and emit a mucous like substance that when it comes in contact with oxygen it emits warmth. Lock your doors and hide your children! Their coming for you!

since they realised it wasnt warming up as much as they thought and it seemed to actually be getting colder...I can attest to this, i just had a week here in southwest fl where we barley got out of the 40's..and had record lows of low 20's, teens with with chill!! (im all for cleaner enviorment and less pollution but it should not be a political thing that folks like algore use to get phony nobel prizes)
Id be willing to bet this cold snap killed off a few of the hundreds of thousands of man eating constrictors plauging the evrglades...ahem...
Seriously though...Id be interested to see what kind of low temps these snakes could handle and for what period of time...i'd be willing to bet they could survive a really frigid cold snap but not thrive or live in a contiously cold climate...however these creatures have survived for millions of years and it snot always been perfect and toasty for them.
Look at the snakes that survive up north...
oh well fight on !!

Wow there are a lot of things in your post that are just off. I don't have time to go over all of them but I can hit at least 2 of them.....

1) You can't use 1 weeks worth of local weather to try to explain away a global trend in climate change. That's just stupid....really stupid.

2) Are you saying that non-native pythons could make it through a week of freezing temperatures because "snakes up north" brumate? Really ? I actually changed my mind on explaining this too you... Burms don't brumate, corns do.

If you are going to try to use a hundred years of incohearent data to predict the future of a planet that is billions of years old... then he can use one week of local weather to refute you. Not to mention that when this planet was "warming" (late 90s to early 2000s) the rest of the planets in the solar system were warming right along with it. I know we have a few rovers on Mars but I seriously doubt they are diesel belching suvs destroying the ecosystem... Oh wait, they are SOLAR!
Now that the average temp of the planet is on the decline (according to the Journal of American Science) over the last two to three years... and the hottest summer on record was in the 1930s... the only thing left that egotistical narrow-minded envirozombies can do is throw insults around. Why do you think we have to deal with Washington nosing into the reptile industry???
It is the same "I know better than you despite the facts" mantality. Just the fact that you would mix the two shows that you miss the point. It is too freekin' cold in Florida for non-native cold blooded species to survive for very long... let alone thrive.

Sorry all... I just had to get that off my chest.
Can we all get back to stopping Washington from writing bad law??? I don't want to be forced to give up my pets, my investments or my rights.

I agree with you, and don't mean to prolong the discussion, but someone sent this link to me today. Now we are going to have a "mini ice age." So are we suppose to now go out and start buying the big SUV's again???

see how the enviro's go all nasty at ya when you make a couple light hearted observations..geezy peezy!! LOL
The enviro thing is all about the ducket...Its like trying to blam a hurricane on a politcal party...hello its a force of nature!! I propose we ban all hurricanes...they are bad for the enviorment! While we are at it no more volcanoes or earthquakes..I wonder what mankind did to trigger that earthquake..hmm too many sport fishers in the carribean?

I really hope we can beat this dumb bill. I try and tell anyone who believes in the goverment getting out of our biz about this and well, lets see what happens.
At the end of the day we all beleive in one thing..let us have our boas and boas are the coolest!
