SAMPLE LETTER SENT TODAY
Dear Senator Bill Nelson,
In Miami, the temperature dropped to 36 degrees, breaking the old record for the day of 37 degrees set back in 1927. Across South Florida actual temperatures dropped into the upper 20s inland in some locations, including Kendall, with the 'feels like' temperatures in the teens.
In Key West, the temperature at the airport dropped to 42 degrees shattering the old record of 48 degrees set back in 1970. This was also the second coldest temperature ever recorded in Key West going back to 1873
On Sunday Miami tied a record low temperature with a reading of 35 degrees making it the coldest morning we've had since the cold air outbreak of 1989. Sunday afternoon highs were in the 40s which marked only the 4th time that we've had a high temperature that did not exceed 50 degrees since records have been kept in South Florida.
Over the weekend, snow flurries were reported in Kendall and ice pellets in Oakland Park, according to reports sent in to CBS4's Zoom Radar. The reports were from trained National Weather Service spotters.
@Monday morning will go down in the record books for one of the coldest days in South Florida's history.CBS4's Jeff Berardelli and Lissette Gonzalez contributed to this report
What does all this mean? It means the feral Burmese Python population is all but destroyed. What little that remains alive of the python population will succumb to respiratory ailments. The final nail in the coffin of the feral population will get hit again today when S. Florida temps again hover well below the python's tolerance, securing their anilation from mother nature.
With all this said now we can finally put to rest the cancellation of s373. This bill more than ever is not needed. The weather has done what this bill could never hope to do even if it did all it could, never would s373 be able to have even a fraction of the effect we have unwittingly been privileged to receive. This amplifies the common sense decision that must plainly be evident to everyone. We, more than ever, do not need to damage our economy, destroy an industry, steal the rights to pursue happiness of thousands of Americans, and cause economic hardship and increased unemployment for a accomplished cause that mother nature fixed for us. Thank God!We the people know you as a kind and well intending Senator and expect the obvious.
KILL THE BILL-oppose s373
Your constituent,
Pete Bandre'
