Sphagnum Moss???

benes10 Jan 12, 2010 02:34 PM

Is it okay to use sphagnum moss in the hide boxes for my ball pythons? If not, what is the best thing to use for keeping humidity up in the hide box?

If you are worried about humidity, I would have one hide box with the damp moss and one or two hides without. That way the snake can decide which one it prefers/needs.

The question is... is sphagnum moss good to use, or should I be using something else?

Sphagnum moss is just fine. Just maintain it and check it like the rest of your bedding and make sure the snake has a warm dry place, as well as a warm moist place to rest.
