Boa temperment change, hes crazy..

eschmit04 Jan 14, 2010 03:42 PM

Hey guys I have two south Brazilian redtails I have been raising to breed. They have both been tame since I received them. I had them in the same rack for the day while I was cleaning their normal cages. Today I pulled them both out and put them away. My male who is an 07 snapped! He puffed right up and started nailing the enclosure, hissing non stop. I left him be to cool down.

Any ideas what set this little bugger off?

Thanks,
Ed

Yeah I have dealt with that with my retics, but he snapped. I have never seen a boa with this kind of anger... and now tonight when I came home hes a peach again... weird..

In my opinion, boas only bite if they are hungry, or if they are scared. For some reason something scared or startled him. He just got the wrong message. He will probably be sweet from now on.
