just a quick question. i currently use a uth in my 20 gallon long tank. I use aprox 1-2 inches of aspen bedding. I was wondering the proper temp to use and where to set the digital probe? I currently set it right on top of the bedding on the warm side(85ish), and same on cool side. if i put the probe deeper into the beeding on the warm side it reads almost 100 degrees(I do use a dimmer) and if i raise the probe around one inch off of the bedding then the temp drops to room temp(70).. Is this all ok? I keep reading about ambient temp supposed to be around 80ish, but this seems almost imposible, unless they talking about temp of the bedding, it just seems that as soon as you raise up the probe the temp goes way down. my snake is one years old and doing great, so no concerns, but Im looking into getting a hatchling corn, king or milk withen three months, and want to get as close to perfect as I can(impossible)...thanks
