I don't think anyone here disagrees with your position it's just that, education aside, people are gonna do what they want to do regardless of advice offered to the contrary. In the kids case, he's on his way, now there is an obligation to help him along. Don't want him to become a piece of ammunition for those that are against the hobby. Therefore, in my mind the obligation shifts from one of prevention to one of education.
We all had a little fun at the kids' expense but to his credit he came back. First return was a little combative but this second attempt seems to be an admission of sorts.
Let's put the egos and education aside and do our best to ensure that the copperheadkid is not led astray, and correctly learns the responsibilities of the hobby.
