Well, it's that time of year again, boys and girls! I hope everyone participates, since it gives us "interweb friends" more connection with who we're talking to and reminds us that even those we disagree with are real people. So, post 'em up! One photo or ten - let's see those faces!

I'll start us off:

Don't make laugh Doug, just had dinner! Hey Joe, that's cool! Is that a carrot stogy the snowman is puffing on?? LOL!

joecop Jan 15, 2010 07:42 PM

Doug, yeah she is 11 years younger than me. I don't mind!!! LOL. Scott, that is a tent stake in his mouth. Its all I could find on short notice without going into the wife's toy chest. LOL!!! She probably would not like that, nor would the neighbors.

SDeFriez Jan 15, 2010 07:51 PM

Good call on the tent peg, much better than going into your wifes toy chest...LOL!

Scott

joecop Jan 15, 2010 07:56 PM

Yeah, but that would have made for one funny gayman---oops, I mean snowman. LOL.

SDeFriez Jan 15, 2010 08:04 PM

Hahahahahaa! Joe that is too funny bro. I guess it would depend on where it was put!.......LOL!

Scott

SDeFriez Jan 15, 2010 08:47 PM

OK here goes. Don't laugh too hard. Oh what the hell, live it up! I had long hair most of my life (untill last year, cut it short) kinda a must when you play in rock/metal bands. Scott

1st pic, just me screwing around with my 76 Gibson Explorer 06.
2nd pic, on the road from TX to NM and back hunting snakes, 07.
3rd pic, hunting pyros up in the NM mountains last year. Caught one that day, a female.

joecop Jan 15, 2010 08:55 PM

HAHAHAHA. That is GREAT!!! Look out slash, here comes Scott!! Hey bro, I had hair down to my a-- for three years when I was a cop. When I went back to uniform (crime scene officer) I swirled it up into a bun and put my hat over it. I used to let it down sometimes before I left work. Well, many officer did not know I had long hair under that hat. They would flip out!!! I was on the Potomac River fishing a bass tournamnet and forgot to put my hair up. It was so tangled that I had to cut it off. I never have grown it back since. Hell, I might not be able to anymore! The hair is awesome bro. Do you wish you still had it long?

SDeFriez Jan 15, 2010 09:51 PM

Thanks Joe! That's so great you had long hair and your fellow officers knew nothing about it, just too cool! Yeah I do miss it, kind of felt like a losing an arm...LOL! Could always grow it back, but for now it's a nice change.

Scott

joecop Jan 15, 2010 10:11 PM

You should bro. I think being different and having long hair is great. I would grow mine back if I was not so old. LOL. My wife actually likes me to shave my head and that makes me look even older. Glad she likes older men though!!!

SDeFriez Jan 15, 2010 10:17 PM

Yes I should, have been thinking about. In the winters here can feel my neck freeze up, sends shivers down my spine, just like when a pretty women walks by, well not that good...LOL! You should grow yours back too, who cares, it's want you want that's important.

Scott

joecop Jan 15, 2010 11:05 PM

AHHH, we think alike. I am working on it right now, and this is the first time in two years I have had ANY hair. One thing is for sure, my friends say I look 10 years younger with hair. I have to keep it now!!

SDeFriez Jan 15, 2010 11:22 PM

Great idea Bro, then when we go hunting zonata, we will both have longer hair. So lets rock on....LOL!

I live in Maryland. I love painted brick and when I move to this neighborhood five years ago NONE of the houses were painted. First thing I did was paint the house white and put a new dark roof on. 36 gallons of PRIMER alone. Sucked, but I like the way it looks and others are starting to do theirs now.

Thanks Dave. That snow was very heavy and packed easily. I did not plan to make a 7 foot snow man when I started but that is what happened. The bottom snow ball got so heavy I could not move it any more as my pants and jacket can attest to. Fell flat on my face trying to get it away from the sidewalk. That was fun time with my wife and daughter though. I took the storm off from snow plowing to spend time with them.

5 and half pounds or so Doug? I caught my biggest bass in a pond behind my brothers condo in Ft. Lauderdale two years ago. Hard to tell by photos how big they are sometimes.

DMong Jan 15, 2010 09:13 PM

Yeah Joe, I would guess it at around that!. I caught a freakin 24" long bass inn the same neighborhood with him the year before. What a MONSTER it was!!!!...WOOOOO!

Dude!, I grew up in Ft. Lauderdale..LOL! The decent middle class neighborhood I lived in as a kid is now a discusting crack ghetto!!. My fishing buddy also grew up there, and we have known each other since third grade. So when we drove through our old neighborhood a couple years back, we were both horrified at what the place had become......it REALLY pi$$Ed me off man!

I was caring a huge truck bed full of big tool chests, and it looked like we were trying to make a quick trade for crack cruising through the "hood" there..LOL! All eyes were on the two white crackers driving slowly with a huge load of tools!..LOL!

I said,..."dude!, let's get the F&*# outa here, before we get shot or some SH!*"!!!..LOL!

So we took of with a sick feeling in our stomachs to think that was once our fun stompin grounds..LOL!..........

THE END

WTF!! My brother lives off of Atlantic ave. accross from the horse race track. His condo backs up to a golf course. Great bass fishing!! I caught a 27" 8.5 pounder out of one of the ponds.

Doug, I used to live for it and have about thiry rod and reel combos in my basement from those days. I went through four bass boats in my twenties and thirties. All my "high tech" gear is now obsolete!! Lucky for me shimano curado reels are still good and I made a couple of my rods (with help from a buddy) out of St. Croi (spelling?) blanks. They have held up well. Do you fish mostly salt water? Seems you have a lot of peir photos too. Cooler of beer, a buddy or two, and some night fishing. Gotta love it.

DMong Jan 15, 2010 09:56 PM

Yeah Joe, when I lived in Ft. Lauderdale, I went fishing every single weekend either in the intracoastal, or the ocean. Caught some real bruisers in my day. Port Everglades area was killer too!.

I caught tons of sharks right on the Lauderdale strip at night too by the basketball courts near the Yankee Clipper across from the Marriot there. I used to have countless rods and reals too, but due to a long story, I no longer have them. I had some super quality stuff too.

So where I live now, I do a little salt too hear and there too, but go freshwater fishing with my buddy in Ft. Pierce most of the time lately. I had a nice shark on with my girlfriend a few months ago that I almost got up to me after about 30 minutes, but snapped off at the last freakin second when it was only about 25 feet in front of me in knee deep water. My girlfriend was freaking out, and I kept telling her...."RELAX!, I will grab this sucker by the tale and drag it's a$$ to the shore if I can get my hands on it"..LOL!

I have pulled countless big sharks up on the beach like they are a big sack of potato's..LOL!. But she doesn't have a clue about any of the stuff I have done, she just thinks shark, water, me,........bad combination..LOL!

Silly girls!!

You are crazy!! I probably would have been freaking out too. I have caught lots of sharks too, but not while I was in the water with them!! I am mostly a fresh water guy myself but love to go salt water fishing from time to time because I will eat some of those! Pawley's Island SC has a peir village with a private peir and I went there for fifteen years straight to fish. Caught sharks, tarpon, flounder, redfish, ect. Good stuff bro. We will have to go wet a line one day while I am down there. (may be moving there in the future as you know) I keep seperate fishing tackle down there at my brothers so I don't have to take the stuff on a plane.

DMong Jan 15, 2010 10:39 PM

I have my X girlfriend to thank for the insitu capture photos.

First pic is the Raleigh, NC show. Last pic is at the Virginia State fair. Steve

Hey Steve

How often do you make it down to the Raleigh show?

Dave

Steve_Craig Jan 16, 2010 06:19 PM

Dave, I've only been once, & that was a couple of years ago. I usually hit the Richmond show, and Chesapeake, if they continue to have that show. Steve

Dniles Jan 17, 2010 01:15 PM

Cool. if you ever head back to Raleigh, give me a shout, I usually goto that show as well.

Daytona 2009. Ill give you a hint, I am the girl.

My newest boyfriend Krakatoa. He is sooooooo adorable....

Does this count as field herping?

Spent the day swimming with alligators.. One of the few no make up pics I will actually share!

Now when you decide you are made at me at a show and want to scream, remember what I play with and take a deep breath.

Todd, that would be a vast improvement as my years as the Iguana Woman, when I first started rescue and did an insane level of iguana work.

However, if you ever see me at a show, please come up say hi, tell me what you want changed, tell me what would make you happier on here. Of course if you catch me at about midnight on the patios at daytona I am likely to agree to ANYTHING. I do love meeting folks tho and actually putting a face and person to the name on the forums has always been my favorite.

Please tell me yes when I ask you if you will be in daytona. Thomas, will you be I'm dayotona so we can meet in person, have a few beers, some laughs and see where the night takes us? I know you say you can't be intimidated but can I intimate you?

We can pretend we are in Texas on a herping trip on Juno road on a moonlit nite, crickets chirping, a coyote howl, I have smell love in the air now.

Nice family bro. How do you like your FJR? I have been riding forever myself and had them all but I was looking to get one of those.

mattcbiker Jan 18, 2010 03:36 PM

It's my 5th bike and it is awesome. I got it used and have had it since 06. It's a do it all bike. It's comfortable and still handles as well as a sportbike. In fact most of my friends ride crotch rockets and cannot keep up with me through the corners. I do a lot of 2 up riding and you don't even feel the passenger which is great. She is comfy on the back and doesn't have to lean forward. Best of all, DIY maintenance is very easy which can't be said of some of the other ST's like the C-14. I can't say enough good things about the bike. I ride the snot out of it and always get over 40mpg which gives me about a 250 mile cruise rang. Such a nice bike. I have a summer and a winter shield for it and that makes it perfect for any temps. Affordable used, too.

mattcbiker Jan 19, 2010 08:13 PM

Haha you'll want to keep that one too it sounds fun, FJR sounds good for you, and yes, you can still wheelie with it if you'd like. Even better 'cause people don't expect the front end to come up on a shaft drive bike with bags!
