Best cage cleaner for a serious clean?

Bill S. Jan 16, 2010 06:13 PM

I have a 6-foot AP cage that housed a retic, and will now be housing an olive python. I want to thoroughly clean the cage and remove all traces of the past tenant. While I usually use Nolvasan, I want to clean the walls and ceiling and everything else spotless. I'm thinking bleach and water, in a 1:10 b-to-w ratio.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Bill
PS: I hope everyone did their part with the letters to kill the proposed python/boa ban.

yes...hold your breath cause 1:10 will bleach your eyes and lungs out as well ats the cage...

Id try a little less bleach and a bit of dishsoap and just wipe it out. Unless the former occupant went to its reward in there and you just put it in the garage and forgot it its probably not that nasty.

If you want MORE POWER for your disinfecting mix your 1:10 bleach in a small spray bottle and put the cage outside, spray it down good and let it sit for a spell and then hose it off good. Than let it air dry in the sun if there is any around.

If your trying to get uric acid deposits off its just a matter of elbow grease.
