Stupid Question

chizu_sando Jan 17, 2010 04:05 PM

Yes, this is a stupid question but I've run out of places to ask. I was having a conversation with a friend of mine about venomous and showed her a picture I found online of a pink and green striped snake. I believe it is native to the Thailand area. Does anyone know the scientific name of this species? Does anyone even know what I'm referring to?

I have several books in my library that cover Thailand and none of them have a snake that fits YOUR description. Can you post a link to the picture you saw?

Ah! I found it! Took me forever though. Sorry for bugging everyone, the snake I couldn't figure out was Trimeresurus kanburiensis or Trimeresurus venustus.

trimeresurus venustus would certainly be what you are speaking about.
