Interesting. In the text you linked to they don't define "Python". Do they mean the Family? Or the Genus? Or a select group of species not mentioned in this text?

I was wondering about Regal Reptiles, when i read this thread. I purchased my BRB from them and what a great snake he has become! I would definitely go to them for another snake, if i had the room to get another. The amount of control the government is trying to enforce over the reptile industry is ludicrous! I guess the state reps and senators are no longer worried about unemployment rates, forclosures, etc. I thought the Bush administration was scary, but this Obama one is truly frightening, and he's been in office for only a year, can't wait to see how this country is looking at the end of his term

Our lovely Government is treating us like a group of children hanging out in the kitchen with drawers full of knives. They are now working on locking all sorts of these drawers and making sure the "group" of kiddies is safe.

I REALLY hate being treated like a child!!!

As an example....did you know that Sand Boas (eryx species) in Rhode Island are ILLEGAL?

The punch line is that they are illegal because......

There is a lot of SAND in coastal Rhode Island!

Can i just say, my 8 year old niece has more common sense then these government officials,IMHO. If only these officials could just see the look of joy on her face when she is holding one of my snakes,be it one of my Sand Boas, or my BRB, which she held for the first time when she was only 3 years old, with my supervision of course It's moments like those, a child's untainted view about reptiles, one that has not been inundated by ignorant views based on fear and inaccurate facts,that makes me realize why we have to continue to educate the public on the true aspects of snakes and other reptiles.
