This is my first year breeding and everything is going very well so far. I'm not home much during the day so I haven't had the privilage of seeing them hook up or the ovulation. I've been weighing my female sporatically the past 6 months to document her weights before and during breeding. I fed her every 7 to 10 days a large rat and she never misses a meal. She has gained weight on a constant, my question is, during and after breeding, if not eating, will she still gain weight as the babies grow? Just curious because I haven't actually seen them breed, but I'm not home for a good part of the day either. Trying to figure out another way to see what to expect.
